Soroptimist International of Friday Harbor is the local club of a world-wide service organization whose mission is improving the lives of women and girls. In Friday Harbor, we raise and donate over $40,000 and thousands of volunteer hours each year to community projects. Explore this site to see what we do here and abroad and how you can join us, support our work or benefit from our projects. Welcome!
For the second year in a row, Soroptimist International of Friday Harbor is encouraging qualified women in San Juan County to apply for our “Educational Opportunity Award”. This award helps women overcome financial difficulties and better their lives through education and training. The recipient may use the cash award to offset any costs of higher education, including such things as tuition, books, childcare, and transportation. The award goes to a woman who is enrolled in an undergraduate or vocational degree program of study, including on-line educational programs.  (Please note that this award differs from the Live Your Dream Award in that an applicant for the Educational Opportunity Award does not need to be the primary wage earner in a household.)

Soroptimist International of Friday Harbor has made a $2,000.00 monetary award available for a woman in San Juan County. (This award is not a scholarship, and is therefore taxable for U.S. citizens.)

Download an application from this website, or pick one up at The Toy Box located at 20 1st Street in Friday Harbor. For any questions, please contact Diana Sibert by email at dianasibert@gmail.com, or by phone at (360) 370-5269.
