What is a Soroptimist?

The name Soroptimist was coined from the Latin word soror meaning sister, and optima meaning best. And so Soroptimist is perhaps best
interpreted as 'the best for women'.
Our mission and goals are guided by the
overall vision of
Soroptimist International,
Soroptimist International of the Americas

and
Soroptimist International Northwestern Region.

How We Serve

We serve our community through our programs. Our focus is the empowerment of women and girls to live their dreams by giving them the resources to create positive change for themselves, their families, their communities, and the world. Some of our programs serve the broader community through support of needs unique to San Juan County, WA.

Our Supporters

We are grateful to the many individuals and businesses that donate to our organization by giving a percentage of sales or profit, making direct donations, and participating in our auctions, as donors of goods, or bidders.

It is through the support of our community that we are able to make a difference in the lives of
women and their families in our community.
